The life stories of entrepreneurs appearing in the BBC reality TV show 'Dragons Den' reveal some common life events.

Robert Peston (2009), in the BBC Radio 4 programme 'Insight', introduced the episode 'Entrepreneur's Wound' in which he explained that although successful entrepreneurs appeared to have it all they in fact often hide a trauma in their life.

The question arises as to what the relationship might be between such major life events and successful entrepreneurship? Citing several business and academic sources one suggestion is that control over their lives is paramount.
